The next time someone asks me why I started a site covering nothing but #Chromebooks, I’ll point to this photo in a recently published post from another site as Exhibit A.
I have spoken.

@kevinctofel Realky wish Google had been able to focus on Chromebooks more, I was super excited about the Pixelbook and then it went nowhere. They seem like such a great device for so many people.
@lindsaykwardell Yup, it’s disappointing to see no new Pixelbook for several years now. But it’s challenging for Google to compete on price against its hardware partners that purchase significantly more components at much better rates.
I’m reviewing the Framework Chromebook right now and TBH, it’s what I’d want a modern Google Pixelbook to be. Missing a few important features but I’m very impressed by the modular design.
@kevinctofel @lindsaykwardell I think more importantly the fact that so many different manufacturers are building Chromebooks is a success for ChromeOS. Google is not known for its hardware... but there are manufacturers who can build and distribute great hardware worldwide who are now shipping Chromebooks.
@lindsaykwardell @chromedevice 💯! No doubt that’s an important part of the equation too. There are so many brands and form factors to choose from, which is fantastic and grows the platform. Early Pixelbooks demonstrated what a high end Chromebook could do, well before most people thought they needed one. Now? Plenty of good choices across all budgets and use cases.
@kevinctofel I’ll keep an eye out for your review!
@lindsaykwardell Until I finish that, here’s why I find this #Chromebook so special and different: You can replace (or even upgrade) just about every single part. AND the four I/O ports use plug-in modules so you can have exactly the ports you want/need an in instant. Very forward thinking! https://www.aboutchromebooks.com/news/the-framework-chromebook-teardown-process-is-super-easy/
